Feb. 5th, 2022 05:11 pmA great and terrible adventure awaits our heroes on the planet Etz, a world flush with vibrant organic life. This beautiful and young world is threatened by the presence of a massive fortress that sits on its surface like an evil mountain. This fortress glows with ominous power that is leeching the life out of the planet itself, a ring of black and brown spreading with the fortress at its center.
A vision, one given to the young Seer of Alchemist Prime, brings the ship here, as it was clear on its location and what is going on. An old Cybertronian had called out to them in the vision, and all is known about him is that he is held captive somewhere in the massive structure.
The fortress itself is infused with Dark Energon, is teeming with an army of undead. Massive dragon-like sentries perch on the Fortress’ spires, giving the indication that flying in will be dangerous and tricky. The ground is no better, with hundreds of the undead, as well as some very long, worm-like shapes burrowing just under the surface.
The cause of this blight lies in the heart of the Fortress, with an artifact called the Life Harvester. The vision says that in order to save this planet and stop its life essence from being fed to Unicron himself, the harvester needs to be destroyed. It is hard to say where Megatron is in all of this, but a safe bet is that he is at the heart of the Fortress as well, but you won’t know until you get there.
I will be the DM of this adventure and now, we consider the following:
• Stealth is an option. Zombies are not known for their perception, however it won’t necessarily be an easier route.
• Characters can be split into multiple parties depending on whatever plan you come up with.
• You should probably find that prisoner.
• There are multiple Dark Energon crystals around the fortress. Destroying them will weaken Megatron’s hold on his army of the undead. Doing so will weaken the horde, but enrage the larger monsters.
• Destroying the larger monsters will enrage the horde.
• The grounds outside of the Fortress are full of the common undead. However, they will not be found inside the fortress. Weird.
◦ The Fortress will contain horror elements. Beware.
Gameplay:
• I will be your DM and will offer guidance in the same way Lex did her adventure.
• 1 d20 dice and I will have you do rolls however I see fit.
• Due to the sheer number of characters in the game, I have decided to split them up as follows:
◦ Active characters: These will be characters who will actively be going into the fortress. Considering the scale of it, I might not take more than 15, but we’ll see.
◦ Semi-active characters: There will be sections where characters not taking part of the plot can rp out some zombie killing if they want.
◦ Support characters: For players who want to have their characters participate but do not want to rp it out or there isn’t enough room for them. Characters who are in this category will give a buff or bonus to the active characters.
If all this seems a bit vague, it’s because I’m leaving in room for whatever it is you have planned. In 2 weeks I will take whatever you have agreed on and make a campaign out of it so that we’re all on the same page when I send you to the zombie fortress. Just to be absolutely clear, this is a planning post. The official adventure sign up will be in two weeks time.
